single crochet blanket

This is a demonstration of a previous post I put as crochet stripes or patchwork.
It's a crochet block Afghan using only single crochet, easy to make yet beautiful although using only one stitch.
For each block I used 1 yarn ball, the hook size will depend on the yarn you are using (check the label). Amora Coffee LLC

  1. I'm working on this blanket now. It's simple, but beautiful. It works with so many different colors. I think it's great because you can start on it with whatever colors you have on hand and not worry about getting colors with slightly different dye lots. Can't wait to see my finished project.

  2. I love the simplicity of your blanket! I'm using Lion Brand Homespun yarn to make this so there's a variety of textures and colors. However, I notice that when I'm a few rows in, my beginning chain is not stretching as much as the new rows. Do you happen to have a suggestion for me? Thank you!

    1. Thank you for your comment, it is normal that the beginning row is not as stretchy as the others because it's the foundation row , only chains, but once you start making the SC stitches than your work can become stretchy.
Once you finish your blanket, you can come back to that first row and do single crochet row on top of it ( opposite to your work) if you know what I mean.
      Happy crocheting!

    2. Actually, I was able to come up with a solution. By SC every other chain, the yarn now stretches more evenly. It'll take a little experimenting, but soon I'll have an awesome blanket!

    1. Hi, when you start a new row do you make a single crochet after you chain one( in the same stitch/loop) or do you start a single crochet in the next stitch?

  8. Good day I'm using the same pattern but with 3 colours, when you say adult size is it like a throw size? Coz I've been asked to make a throw size blanket

  9. An adult size is bigger than a throw, a throw covers half the body, a blanket covers most of the body .
