Pattern:
Chain 4, join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a circle.
Row1 :Chain 3, 2 double crochet in the circle, *chain 2, 3 double crochet in the circle.
Repeat from *  till you get 4( 3 double crochet) chain 1, slip stitch in the 3rd chain from the first chain 3.

Row 2: chain 3, 2 double crochet in the chain 2 space,* 3 double crochet in the next space,chain 2 , 3 double crochet in the same space, 3 double crochet in the next space repeat from* till end of square, slip stitch on top of the initial chain3.

Row 3: chain3, 2double crochet in the same space, *3 double crochet in the next space,( 3double crochet in the next space, chain2, 3 double crochet), repeat from* till last space, 3double crochet, slip stitch on top of the chain3.

Repeat row 3 till row 6.

Row 7 : chain3, 2 double crochet in the same space,* 3 double crochet in the next space, repeat from * till end, slip stitch on top of the chain3.

Repeat row 7 till you obtain the required length for your hat.
