Written pattern, How to crochet the double crochet Chevron blanket

This is one of the patterns which leaves me intrigued when reaching the sides as I never manage to do it right at the end of every row and never understood the reason .
However when I spent more time figuring out the right numbers and doing and undoing the gauge , I finally got it right.
This Chevron is using a double crochet however you can use half double crochet as well so it makes it fast and still as beautiful as the single crochet Chevron which I love the sharp edges of.
I have again used red heart soft yarn and you'll find below a link to where to buy it and the colors.
I have used 2 balls of each color.

  1. What’s the finished size if I chain the 220 ??

  2. On row one it says dc in 8th chain. Is this correct?

    1. Yes it is, it is the ch4 at the beginning of the row and the sk 4.

  3. Why would I spend money at Etsy on a pattern that doesn't work? I have a big loop on the front end of the first row and 2-3 extra sc at the end. If I follow your instructions for the second row there is no way the afghan will be symmetrical. Why publish something so assinine?

  4. I know that the 1st and 2nd row are confusing and looks like to many chains at the beginning but once you continue with the rows, everything will take place and the afghan will look correct, it'll be a straight line.
