Cross stitch Stretchy Crochet belt
This is the 2nd crochet belt I make this year, I normally don't wear belt but this one was inspired by a simple elastic belt band that you wear around the waist so I wanted to make it from crochet.
the reason I have chosen the cross stitch, was first because of the pretty look of the stitch and also because it is stretchy and make it almost perfect for this project.
So I have used cotton yarn for this belt, mercerized one and 2.5 mm hook.
You want to make it a little tight because it stretches later on so it might get loose if you make it the size of your waist.
What I did is take my waist size and lessen around 5 centimeters and start my work, at the end , I joined both ends with a slip stitch.
Similar to the belt, I have previously made a headband using the same stitch which you can see here

Row3: Repeat row 1
Row 4: Repeat row 2
Alternate between row 1 and 2 till your band measures 75 cm or the size you require.
Without fastening off, join both ends together in the wrong side, sl st in every st till the belt is closed and attached.
Note:
While working the last cross stitch in every row, you might end up with only 1 dc instead of 2, so sk 1 st, work 1 dc in the last st and work 1 back dc in the sk st.
