Crochet letter X

 Letters are A must know in crochet as it first expends your knowledge about crochet and gives you more option for crochet projects.

I  have done most of the alphabets and numbers and the patterns are all available in the blog, just press the tag crochet alphabets and you'll find them all.

For today here is the pattern for letter X

Materials

Cotton mercerized yarn

3 mm crochet hook

Measurements

Approx 3 cm

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

St: stitch

Sc: single crochet

Sl st: slip stitch

Sctog: single crochet together

Ch 9

Row 1: 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in every ch, 2 sc in the last ch

Row 2: ch1, 2 sc in the 1st st, sc in every st, 2 sctog in the last 2 st .

Row 3: ch1, 2 sctog in the 1st 2 st, sc in every st, 2 sc in the last st.

Row 4, 6, 8, 10, 12: ch1, 2 sc in the 1st st, sc in every st, 2 sctog in the last 2 st .

Row 5, 7, 9, 11,13: ch1, 2 sctog in the 1st 2 st, sc in every st, 2 sc in the last st.

Fasten off

**Join the yarn on the side of you worked piece, on the 6th row

Row 1: ch1, 2sctog in the following 2 st, sc in the next 2 st, 2 sc in the last st.

Row 2: ch1: 2 sc in the 1st st, sc in the next 2 st, 2 sctog in the last 2 st.

Row 3: ch1, 2sctog in the following 2 st, sc in the next 2 st, 2 sc in the last st.

Row 4: ch1: 2 sc in the 1st st, sc in the next 2 st, 2 sctog in the last 2 st.

Row 5: ch1, 2sctog in the following 2 st, sc in the next 2 st, 2 sc in the last st.

Repeat the same ** on the opposite side.
