The granny square blanket crochet pattern





This is a very easy project to make in no time, the granny square is always versatile and can be worked with any color combo and any project and will always look pretty and attractive.

Worsted medium yarn (red heart super saver)

8 mm crochet hook.

1 orange, 2 dark blue, 1 teal green, 1 tangerine or dark orange

10cm: 5 rows/15 sts

Ch: chain

St: stitch

Dc: double crochet

Sp: space

Sps: spaces

Color chart

2 rows light orange, 2 dark blue, 2 dark oranges, 2 green, 2 dark blue, 2 light orange, 4 dark blue, 2 green, 2 light orange, 9 dark blue

Note: color change

To change color, with the hook in the last st, bring the new color yarn inside the last st, ch2 and continue working.

Written pattern

Row 1: with color A, ch4, join to the first ch to form a ring, ch3, 2dc in the ring, ch2, 3dc in the ring, ch2, 3dc in the ring, ch2, 3dc in the ring, ch1, join to the top ch 3. Fasten off.

Row 2: with color B, from any ch2 space, join with a slip st, 2dc in the same space, in the next space (3dc, ch2, 3dc) repeat in the next 2 spaces, in the last one (where you started the first cluster) 3dc, ch1, join to the top initial ch 3. Fasten off.

Row 3: with color C, From any corner, join with a sl st, ch 3, 2dc in the same space, ch 2 3dc all in the same space, 3 dc in the next space, ( 3dc, ch2, 3dc) in the next corner, 3dc in the next space, ( 3dc, ch2, 3dc) in the next corner, 3dc in the next space, ( 3dc, ch2, 3dc) in the next corner, 3dc in the next space, join with a sl st to the top ch3, fasten off.

Repeat Row 3 till row 30.
