Any yarn of your choice with the recommended crochet hook size on the label.
Or medium worsted yarn (4) with 6 mm crochet hook
Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sc: single crochet
Sp: space
Sts: stitches
Sl st: slip stitch
Written Pattern
Ch2
Row 1: in the 2nd ch from the hook, (sc, ch1, sc ch2) 4 times, join to the 1st st.
Row 2: ch1, sc in the next st. Ch1, In the ch2 sp, make *(1 sc, ch2, 1 sc), ch1, sc in the next st, ch 1**, repeat from * to **, join with a sl st.
Row 3: ch2, sc in the next st, ch1, *(sc, ch2, sc in the corner) ch1, sc, ch1, sc, ch1 in the next sts.** Repeat from * to**. Join with a sl st.
Repeat row 3 till you get the width required for your project.
Color change:
With the hook in the last st, join the new color, ch 1 and continue as per pattern
