Popcorn stitch crochet pattern
The popcorn stitch pattern is a straight forward and easy pattern to achieve if you don’t like the complication of the bobble stitch but want a similar look. This one is a must try.
Measurements
10 cm: 9 rows/ 10 sts ( sc)
Materials
Medium worsted yarn with 8 mm crochet hook
Or the yarn of your choice with the recommended crochet hook
Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl st: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
Written pattern
Ch25
Row 1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in every ch.
Row 2: ch1, in the 1st ch make 5 dc, leave the last loop of the dc loose, insert the hook in the 1st s dc and pool the loose loop to close all the 5 dc (first popcorn made), sc in the next st. Repeat the same throughout the row (5 dc, leave the last loop of the dc loose, insert the hook in the 1st s dc and pool the loose loop to close all the 5 dc (first popcorn made), sc in the next st.
Row 2: ch1, sc in every St.
Row 3: repeat row 1
Row 4: repeat row 2
Alternate between row 1 and 2 until completion of your project.
If you want the popcorns not on top of each other, every other row of the popcorn stitch start with a sc instead of the popcorn stitch straight away.
