Popcorn stitch in rounds crochet pattern
The popcorn stitch pattern is a straight forward and easy pattern to achieve if you don’t like the complication of the bobble stitch but want a similar look. This one is a must try in rounds.
Materials
Berry medium worsted yarn with 5.5 mm crochet hook
Or a yarn of your choice with the recommended crochet hook.
Measurements
10 cm: 10 rounds/ 8 popcorns
Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sc: single crochet
Dc : double crochet
Sl st: slip stitch
Written pattern
Ch2
Round 1: 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Round 2: ch1, in the 1st st *make 5 dc, remove the hook from the last st, insert it in the 1st dc and pull the last st to close the popcorn, sc in the next st**, repeat from * to **, join with a sl st.
Round 3: ch1, 2 sc in every st.
Round 4: repeat round 2
Round 5: ch1, 2sc in the 1st st, 1 sc in the next st. Alternate ( 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the following st) till the end of the round, join .
Round 6: repeat round 2
Round 7: ch1, 2sc in the 1st st, 1 sc in the next 2 st. Alternate ( 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the following2 st) till the end of the round, join .
Alternate the rounds, 1 row single crochet and 1 round popcorn stitch, in the single crochet round in every round you’ll increase the single crochet st in every st by one, exactly what you do when you crochet a single crochet flat circle.
