Spiral stitch crochet pattern
This is a general pattern on how to work this beautiful spiral round which can be turned into a blanket, pillow or anything in a round shape. The pattern explains how to make it larger and keep it flat throughout the work.
Measurements/ gauge
20/20 cm
10 cm: 10 rounds/ 15 sts
Materials
Any yarn of your choice with the recommended crochet hook
Or medium worsted yarn with 6 mm crochet hook.
Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Dc: double crochet
Fpdc: front post double crochet
Bpdc: back post double crochet
Written pattern
Ch 4
Round 1: 6 dc in the 4th ch from the hook. Join to the 1st ch.
Round 2: ch3, 2fpdc in each previous dc, join to the beginning st
Round 3: ch3, 2fpdc in the 1st st, 1 bpdc in the next st. Alternate ( 2fpdc in the next st, 1 bpdc in the following st) till the end of the round. Join.
Round 4: ch3, 2 fpdc in the 1st st, 1 bpdc in the next 2 sts. Alternate, 2 fpdc in one st, 1 bpdc in the next 2 sts. Join.
Round 5: ch3, 2 fpdc in the first st, 1 fpdc in the next st, 1 bpdc in the next 2 sts. Repeat,
Round 6: ch3, 2 fpdc in the first st, 1 fpdc in the next 2 st, 1 bpdc in the next 2 sts. Repeat
Round 4: ch3, 2 fpdc in the first st, 1 fpdc in the next 3 st, 1 bpdc in the next 2 sts. Repeat
Keep repeating round 4 and increasing the 1 fpdc by one in each round to keep the round flat and obtain the spiral effect.
