Houndstooth beanie crochet pattern

This beanie is worked from bottom to top in rounds, changing colors every 2 rounds till the end of the beanie and the top is pulled together and stitched to close. Very easy and quick, the houndstooth pattern makes it stylish and pretty.

Written pattern

With the white color

for medium size, ch60

for large size, ch 80

bring the two ends together with the right side facing and join them with a sl st to form a ring.

Round 1: ch1, sc in very ch till the end of the round, sl st to the initial ch 1.

Round 2: ch 1, sc in every st, join.

change to red color.

Round 3: ch 1, sc in the 1st st, dc in the following st, alternate ( sc in the next st, dc in the following st) till the end of the round, sl st to the initial ch 1 .

Round 4: ch1, dc in the 1st st,sc in the following st, alternate ( dc in the next st, sc in the following st) till the end of the round, sl st to the initial ch1.

Whatever was in the previous round a sc, you put a dc on top and vice versa.

Fasten off

turn the piece on the wrong side and from the initial  sc round using a tapestry needle, insert it in every st around, pull the yarn as tight as  possible to close the beanie. finish stitching the left opening and fasten off.
