 Ch: chain 

Sl st: slip stitch 

Sc: single crochet 

Dc: double crochet 

Cross stitch: sk 1 st/ ch, work 1 dc in the next 2sts/ ch, yarn over, come back to the skipped st from the front, work a dc from the skipped back st.

Row 1: in the 5th ch from the hook, 1dc, 1 dc in the last ch, yarn over come back behind the 1st dc, work a dc in the sk st from the back side.
