Solid double v stitch granny square crochet pattern
This granny square is an easier version of the classic one as it uses the double V stitch to make it look prettier and much faster to make, this is similar to the solid granny square as the V stitches are worked in every chain 1 space of the v stitch and corners. Materials
Medium worsted yarn, ex(red heart super saver)
5 mm crochet hook Or any yarn of your choice with the recommended crochet hook on the label
Measurements
4 rows: 14/14 cm
Gauge 10 cm: 12sts/ 6rows 12 sts of single dc
Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Dc: double crochet
Sp: space
Sps: spaces
V stitch: dc, ch1, dc all in the chain 1 space
Written pattern
Ch 4, join to form a ring
Row 1: ch3, make a dc, ch2, ( dvs, ch1, dvs), ch2, ( dvs, ch1, dvs), ch2, ( dvs, ch1, dvs), ch2, join to the top of the initial ch
Row 2: sl st in the ch 1 sp, ch4, dc, all in the same sp. *In the 1st corner ( ch2sp), make a dvs st, ch2, dvs st. In the ch1 sp ( previous dvs st) make a dvs st**. Repeat from * to ** till the end of the row, join with a sl st to the initial ch4.
Row 3: ch4, dvs in the sp, *dvs st in the next sps. In the corner, ( dv st, ch2 dv st)**. Repeat from * to ** till the end of the row. Repeat row 3 till the required width of your project.
